The Lladró Knocks on Wood collection revolves around the association of certain animals with fortune, and the idea of wishing good luck to those receiving one of these amulets. Their ability to see in the dark, and the decrease of their pupils in sunlight, made Egyptians associate cats with the moon and the sun, with the tides and cycles of fertility of the earth. That is why this elegant animal acquired an almost godlike status, being worshiped for nearly 2000 years in Egypt.
