The Bronte Porcelain Peter Pan Collection was launched in November 2004 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first stage production of the Peter Pan play.
J M Barrie gave the rights to the story to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929 to support the hospital. The story was written for the Llewellen Davies boys: George, John (Jack), Peter, Michael and Nicholas (Nico). Barrie said he had made Peter Pan 'by rubbing you five boys together violently, as savages with 2 sticks produce a flame, that is all he is, the spark I got from you'. The face of the Bronte Peter Pan candle extinguisher has elements of all five boys. The fairy Tinkerbell rests on Peter's shoulder.
